Finally! Silvers #100 & #101!

This last weekend was a bust. Nothing but clad and I needed to get silver coin #100. >:{ Went out with Earl and he scored a 1939 Merc and I took the silverless ride of shame home. I knew I had to act fast because the snow is going to fly soon. I decided to give myself the afternoon off and give it one last shot. My first solid hit was a jumpy nickel signal at 8 inches. It turned out to be an 1890 V-Nick. happydance02 Then I got a screaming 12-45 at 7 inches and when I saw the Merc I knew I had #100 for 2012. <: <: <: Then I saw the date and my heart almost stopped! :omg: 1916! I knew it had a mintmark but I couldn't tell what it was until I got home. It turned out to be an S. 8/ but I am still very happy. So now the pressure was off and I could relax and hunt. My next good signal was a solid 12-13 at 6 inches and out popped a 1917 Buffalo. happydance02 Then I hit a jumpy 12-42, 12-43 at 7 inches and I saw the glimmer of silver once more. <: A 1911-S Barber dime. Silver #101 for 2012! What a relief. The quest for 100 silver coins is now over. My original goal was for only 25 in 2012. What do I go for in 2013? I love this hobby. How cool that your 100th silver was a 1916-S Mercury Dime! Still a very nice coin, even if it wasn't a &quot:grin:. :yes:

Fred, :congrats: on exceeding your silver goal, by a very wide percentage I might add. Now we have followed your quest for the 100th silver for quite awhile so we are expecting 2013 to be loaded with pictures thumbsup01. A 1916s merc is a great coin to find for the 100th. Next year try not to take so long is getting to 100... rofl
