First good finds for 2010

SE Sweeper

:grin:I went to a park behind my house. It has been detected for many years and has mostly clad and trash. But my SE was up to the task today. I found a skelton key believed to belog to a long gone house of a Mister Makepeace. He is one of the founders of Chesterfield Indiana. I also found my first silver coin for 2010. It is a 1954 Mercury dime. The old SE detector is still rocking. Sorry, That is a 1945 dime.

Nice key, they usually don't hold up well in the dirt. I gave up on finding a good one up in my neck of the woods. lol That 45 Merc is nice and you just snuck by with the last year Mercury!! A good hunt for a hit to death place.

Nice Merc' and a great key with some history . I have only found one skeleton key in my detecting career and it is one of my most prized non-coin finds . thumbsup01

The Merc is awesome, the key I want back. rofl I live in a house built in 1907 and we still use those keys to lock it up when we go out of town. It will keep the honest out but not much else. I do love the Merc, prettiest dime ever for sure.
