First post storm hunt

Many areas are still covered in snow so I went to my old park where I previously found the Claddagh ring. That park has a lot of sunlight and sure enough, there was a lot of open areas. I found 1 token (?), 11 quarters, 16 dimes - including 2 mercs, 24 pennies - including 3 wheats. The old park finally gave up some silver to me and I was doing the happy dance for sure. :cheering:
The scrungy merc is a 1944 and I was not aware that silver could get affected like that.
:thinkingabout:
thanks for looking and happy hunting

Re: First post strom hunt

Nice score with a nice older merc. Yeah, those silvers can get abused sometimes.

Re: First post strom hunt

Holy cow, that 1919 merc is in great shape. The other one is a good candidate for the foil baking soda treatment, Angel has a nice post on it somewhere, I think it's stickied. Great hunt for sure!

Nice going and way to go with the two Merc's . :wow: I've gotten some real nasty looking silver over the years .Fertilizers tear them up !!! crying01

I didn't know that silver could get that way until I dug one like that. Congrats on being able to hunt after the snow.
