Firsts... do they ever end!?

Was very happy to have recently found a few more firsts--- my first Buffalo nickel, first silver necklace and first silver JFK half dollar (my 'very' first JFK was clad, although it was 40% silver- 1967 lol). The half came from this park next to the OLD jungle gym.

As most of you know, (esp those that live near the equator) it was sooo hot today!!! I stayed in the shade most of the time and my little ones were in air conditioned pre-school...

I love this necklace- counted almost 100 little silver bugle beads! I think I'll re-string it and wear it... I found it next to one of the oldest houses in Lexington. It was only a few inches deep, so prob lost in the 60's. Perfect :)

My lil metal detecting buddy- he LOVES finding old coins. He always accentuates the word 'old' when he shows people our coins  I need to buy him his own miniature MD lol

Congrats

Thanks! Yeah this is my 3rd half - a 3 ringer... lol Why do you ask about the hole? Don't believe I really found it? :poke: :poke: JK No the hole isn't in any of the pics, it's back there under the tree by the jungle gym, plugged back up. I left my camera in the car, but do have pics of all in the hole in my new cell phone but don't know how to retrieve them yet 8/ I need to buy the cord I guess, or maybe it has a card. The necklace pic in my phone is really cool, all dirty with the silver bird and turquoise barely exposed- that was a fun find! I had to be gentle to remove all those silver beads still intact. So slow it felt like a true archaelogical dig. :)

Thanks for looking ya'll, Dan and BaBa It really is a nice place to hunt with all the shade trees and pretty creek nearby. Wish you guys lived closer to hunt with me :)

Congrats on some wonderful finds!! Funny, but I put my coins in an album just like yours!

I just switched to this style, since my collection is getting bigger. It was pretty funny when Logan turned the page and only half full, he said the coins are missing mama!!!

I said, no we have to go find some more to put in there. And he said &quot:daydream:kay let's go now lol it was already dark outside!

lol I'm talking about the hole in the bullet, A.K.A. three ringer bullet. They get that name from the three rings around the base of it. I'm not talking about the hole in the ground lol I totaly believe you that you found it

rofl rofl rofl oh man okay that's embarrassing :embarrassed: (what's funny is how I rambled on and on about it) Yes... the bullet It doesn't have 3 rings- I'll take a close up shot of it. Was it common practice to wear bullet around neck? It was about 4 inches down next to one of oldest houses in Lexington a Bluegrass Trust Historical bldg I think built in late 1700's. I'll take a pic of it soon- really is a neat looking old place.

Great hunt.. I bet there is some whispering deep silver there for you to find as well!

Oooh that's good -very poetic  Shew it's so hot I think I'll pass today- heat advisory here in my parts....

Here's a few of that bullet Tim- do you know a lot about them? I love to find bullets, buckles and buttons  Learning as I go along... Hmmm perhaps this should be posted in the relics section :eyebrow:
