Found an old nickel

Hi all
It's good to be back hunting after taking the whole summer off...Hot and dry in Tn. and I'm to lazy to find any new hunting spots lol...My son in law got out of the military a month or so ago and has been after me to take him hunting so I took him to a few of my old spots and low and behold i pulled a 1911 V nickel out of a pounded and I do mean pounded spot! also got a wheat that day,he didn't fair to well but was very excited none the less and wants to go again. went out tot lotting this morning looking for the elusive gold that eluded me again. Gonna try to get back in the swing of things and start keeping up with the forum again, good to see all the familiar faces still posting away!
Thanx for looking!

Evan, big congrats on the V and wheat. More importantly good for you getting out again. Looking forward to some more posts.

Hey Evan, congrats on a great hunt and getting out in the heat of the summer :shocked01:

Love the V nickel. Thank you for sharing.

Nickles are hard enough to find as it is. Let alone the older nickles :hairpulling:
A V is always a welcome site! thumbsup01 Is the Maltese Cross item silver :dontknow: Kinda looks like it :thinkingabout:
Nice hunt !
Congrats

Awesome V nickel! It looks like it will clean up nicely. It looks like the hot and dry summer is behind us here in Illinois too. It's time to hunt at every opportunity before winter sets in.

Congrats on the nice hunt with your son-in-law! :clapping:

A nice variety of finds. The old nickel is especially nice. I seem to find few nickels, old or new.

Continued good hunting.
