Alec and I went out this morning and hunted an old park for the first time. Alec had the E-trac first, of course, and withing 5 minutes found himself a VERY toasted Indian Head. After that I decided it's my turn. Got a nice 12-31 at about 6 inches deep, and thought I had my first Indian, but when I pulled it out I thought I had a button because of it was so small, but when I got it out and saw the 1852 on the front and Alec told me it was a 3 cent silver. I have never even seen one, let alone dig one. That made my day.
After a while we decided to try a church that we saw on the way to the park. When we got there the owner of the property was there and we asked if we could detect and he said yes. He said somebody has been there before but feel free to try, so we did. In a span of about 2 hours Alec found a 1904 barber quarter in the same hole as a 1918 buffalo nickel (first silver quarter ever), a SLQ with no date, and a 1940 Merc. I found a 1908 Barber quarter, 1 wheat penny, and a pocket watch about a foot deep.
All this in one day, and we still have 2 days of the weekend left.
Sorry the 3 cent piece picture is sideways, I can't seem to fix it, even if I rotate the file.
