Found my smallest Buckle today

Hey Diggers,
The guys and I returned to the Roman site we found a few weeks ago. Today was the first time all 3 of us was available to make a return trip. We found a few more rotted Roman coins but nothing special.

I was digging all the iron signals and had one signal that was very large. Imagine my shock when I popped out a Roman (or medieval) Halberd hook! I've gotten 2 different opinions (one Roman, one Medieval) so we are waiting for the electrolysis to finish and then will have a better idea.

About an hour later I got a chirpy 53 signal (on my XP Deus) and found a very small buckle frame about 5 inches deep. When I got home I looked in my buckle book and found out it dates 1250 to 1400! Another Medieval buckle! Too bad the tongue is missing (probably rusted away centuries ago).

Here's some pics and happy digging! Dave.
