No wonder why we find so many plain buttons. U.S being cheap. Although I do have a few very ornate ones. A Star of David shiny brass and a Stand of Grapes which is my favorite. It's a fairly common button. The research was easy at the time, now I can't find another one on-line.

Yeah,really! I found it looking up the double gilt button I found yesterday (1790-early 1800's!) I love this article, so informative and funny too:

Oooh I like your buttons! I have about 20 so far, nothing as extravagent as those. Makes you wonder who wore them... So how far back do these two go?
