Grassy Square Yields Silver

For several years while driving about I would pass by a small grassy square located just a few miles from my house, and each time I would say to myself that I need to work that place sometime. Well, today was finally the day.

I arrived at the site at almost 4:30 and remained detecting there for about two hours. Trash at the site was minimal, as were, surprisingly, clad coins. But there were good targets too. In the end I walked away with four silver coins, two Barber dimes dated 1905 and 1909, and two mercury dimes dated 1927 and 1941. I also scored with one 1901 Indian Head cent and 26 wheat cents. :happydance01:

HH!

:shocked04: At least you know it was an old place now  Nice to see the Barbers come out from hiding :thumbsup01: 26 Wheats... to the pile they go

Nice hunt and a good hunch paid off. Yet again, you find more in two hours than I do in months of searching, very nice!

Some of those little spots can be sleepers ;)
Way to follow through on your hunch :thumbsup01:
In the picture of the pennies, the coin on the far right side looks funny  Is that some sort of play money? Foreign money? Or are my eyes just playing tricks on me? :dontknow:
Nice hunt!
Congrats

Very nice group of silver Angel. :clapping: Two Merc and two Barbers... :smitten:
It's always rewarding when a hunch pays off.
Congrats on all those wheats and IH too.

Hey, you are right Tim. That coin definitely looks different. :thinkingabout:

Angel, you should write a book about your technique, you seem to pull old silver out of every spot you hunt. :clapping:

Great Job I just love that old silver. :perfect10: I swear you find more silver with that Etrac then i could with a backhoe. Way to go. :clapping:

Thanks guys! thumbsup01

Angel you really pull a lot of old wheaties! How many did you get last year and what key dates have you found? Just curious. :poke:

Last year I dug up 1,873 wheat cents. As far as key dates I don't know since I haven't looked at the dates on the majority of them. :thinkingabout: I do remember several with 1909 VDB dates.
