GROUP HUNT WITH CT TODD* 1802 DRAPED BUST LC

Last night I was pleasantly suprised to get an invite from CT Todd to detect a old colonial soy bean field and said bring a friend.
So Sniffy picked me up at 6:30 am and we were on our way to meet Todd & some other detectorists for 8am.
everyone was pullin coppers except for me & Sniffy.I couldn't get my coil over a coin for nothing except a wheatie & a memorial.dug 2 lead balls & a looks like a hand carved lead bullet head i put it next to a 69 cal civil war bullet for size comparrison.
here it was 2:45 and the hunt was gonna end around 3:30. finally I got a nice 80 ish vdi at 6 inches and the 1802 draped bust large cent finally saw the light of day again.last target was the designed colonial button.
sniffy got his large cent 2 mins after me.was a great hunt and everyone in the group got coppers.one dug a half reale.
Just want to say thank you Todd for the invite.what a class act Todd is and a pleasure to finally meet him & participate on a hunt with him.thanks to all the other detctorists too.was a real pleasure to meet everyone!

erfect10: To all who were at the hunt, the pics came out great . By the way, that large colonial button looks like one I found some years ago . It's great to see a group hunt in action . I have only been to a few but it's nice to see all the finds. It's even better when everyone finds something, especially large cents !!
By the way, How was this organized ? I'd like to get involved in one of these hunts . I also live in CT. and would love to meet the people who I have only had the opportunity to make posts to and send IM's . I have a few spots in mind and wouldn't mind seeing if the owner would allow for a group hunt . There might be a fee though offered as alot of land owners are less apt to allow it to take place unless you offer cash. I know a guy who owns 100's of acres, but about 5 years ago he cut people off ( HUNTERS AND FISHERMEN ) because they were leaving trash on his property .As far as I know it has never been Detected . He told me to stop by in a couple years and he might have a change of heart. I never returned because that's when I got Lymes and stopped Detecting.
I have no doubt that their are many good finds to be found as the property dates back to possibly the 1600's . Let me know if anyone is interested. We might have to sign a waiver as well setting ground rules ( no pun intended ) LOL . Also I would like someone who is a good negotiater because it might take one to get him to allow a group. It's either that or I'll have to risk talking to him myself, that's if he's still alive. He was in his 70's when I met him but he has a daughter who was excited at the idea.
Give me some feedback please . Also, the group would have to be limited to maybe 20 and the Code Of Ethics of Metal Detecting would have to be Strongly Inforced. No Large digging tools, carry bags to collect your trash , fill you holes and stick to the areas he allows us . He's real nice but i would hate to ruin a possible return back .
Let me know if interested and let me know who's a good negotiater as he's a farmer and they can be tough at times to get permission from.

sounds Great Sal! Dan maybe is a good negotiater |:cheering: we wont bring any back hoes but is a small shovel acceptable?thats what we used in these fields and we put back our plugs.the owner was pleased as he couldnt tell we had even been there.see in these fields there was homesites so,that added to the amount of coppers in the fields.your spot sounds like it could have potential.ya just never know till ya start swingin.I'm in if ya get some others to reply
