After seven days in a row in the low 40's to mid 50's, the 24+ inches of snow has now receded to show some grass. Best of all much of the ground is thawed as well with the snow cover and the warm temps. I got the itch so I'm hoping to get out in the next week.
It won't be long now! In some places the frost is gone and in others it's still like concrete :bangahead01:
But for the most part if it gets any sun at all it's starting to come out ! That's good news! thumbsup01
:envious: :envious: :envious: I am living through all you guys   Not quite here yet, but the back yard is down to about a foot or so now :crying02: But the banks are still 3' high. I am glad you guys are gonna be detecting soon. Is it me or was this winter just harder on us all? lol
Here in southern WI the snow is gone in open spots with a southern exposure. I had my digging tools out today checking out the ground to see if it is frozen. BINGO!!! Found it to be thawed out in spots. With temps staying in the mid 30s next week I should get in my first few hunts of 2011.
Today I went out, is was a loss. But I got out , couldnt wait no longer. Ground was frozen in woods. Im here in northeast maryland and beautiful weather tricked me.
We are trying. There is a little bit of winter coming this weekend, but some warm after that. I will try to do my part and kick the furnace up a few notches and keep the front door open. lol
