I did half as good today

I had to go back to the field I found the seated dime in because I felt like I left one there. I was half right. I didn't get another dime but I did find an 1869 shield nickel in pretty good shape. Also found another rimfire cartridge but this one has been smacked in the kisser! Some more round balls. a toe or heel plate and some odd pieces made my four hour hunt complete.

My buddy found two half Reals but he wasn't there when I got there so I couldn't get any pics.

Y'all have a Happy Easter and don't forget to hide the eggs!

Wow! :wow:

That shield nickel looks great! So often they come out of the ground really toasted. That one survived nicely! :loveit:

Congrats on the great hunt! :clapping:

Wow! That field sounds like a place to completely grid.
That's a very nice looking Shield. :smitten: Pat your buddy on the back for me on his two half reales.
Looks like you found a couple of musket balls too.
Congrats fyrffytr1.

That Shield looks fantastic. Usually they are really toasted. Congrats on all your keepers and hope that the next hunt you'll find that other seated dime.

I wondered what those corset fasteners were for the longest time. Is that thing below it a key hole cover?
The coin is

The toe tap is a cool find!
But the shield nickle is the start of the show for sure! thumbsup01
And for comin' out of a field is sure held up great!
Congrats!
Way better than the ones I've found in fields \:[ :envious: lol

Hey Y'all,
Thanks for the kind words. I am surprised that this nickel came out looking as good as it did. I found two other shield nickels in different fields at this site and they are barely recognizable.
For some reason I can't seem to get a sharp picture of the date side of the 69 one. It is better than the picture makes it out to be.
