i found my first old button today

Today i found what i think is an old button. It was in a park ive hunted pretty often this summer. And other then a Buffalo head this is the only other old thing I've found there. I wish the front of it had something on it but the shank looks old. You guys tell me what you think?

Could you post a size reference with the pictures. Looks like a flat button. Nice find

You got yourself a good looking flat button. There probably is writing around the shank. The other side most likely blank. Congrats and keep checking that area. |:cheering:

hey Carl if there is a backmark you could give it a more accurate time period but if it has no backmark of any kind then it would have to be very early 1800's to even late 1700's era.
