Indian Fatty

Here are my finds from park hopping after work on weekdays and found a little silver pocket in a harshly hunted out park. This 1903 penny is MUCH wider in circumference than a regular indian head penny. Whats up with that!?

Could the IH be a fake? I wouldn't think that someone would have gone through that much trouble just for a cent in 1903. But, I found a 1/4 of an IH cut very clean. Naturally no date, but the cent may be an early one. Nice finds any way. Congrats.

Nice finds dalewestaby. :clapping:
I thought the fat IH's were the same diameter as the thin ones. Interesting for sure.

congrats on your finds the indian they call a fatty is the same size but thicker the one you have there is a suprise find sometimes you get something you cannot id but they are always a nice find dennis

some nice after work finds. Couple of silver rings and a fatty IH. Couldn't even begin to tell ya what happened to that.....

Kinda hard to tell from the photos, but that Indian Head almost looks like it has been hammered flat, which may explain its larger diameter.

I tried to lighten the photo so more detail is visible, and it almost looks like there is an imprint of another indian head cent on it, like someone placed two indian heads face-to-face and hit them with a hammer.
