Indian Heads and Silver at a New Old Park

An old park that is new to me. :thumbsup01:

The other park I've been hunting seems to have dried up on me, my last two hunts there were quite fruitless, not even a wheat cent. So today I headed to another old park that I had seen a few weeks ago and filed away in the back of my mind. It is about an hour drive away from my house.

After firing up my E-Trac I had a decent signal within 30 seconds, it ended up being a wheat cent so that was a good sign this park wasn't hunted out. About 20 minutes into my hunt I found an 1892 Indian Head, so that was another good sign. I hunted this park for about 4 hours and found a decent pocket full of keepers and a nice big silver ring.

Here are today's finds:

And here are today's keepers:

I ended up with 6 Indian Heads today, 1892, 1893, 1897, 1899, 1900 and 1905:

The first silver of the day was this 1935 Merc:

Then later I found this 1912 Barber Dime:

Interesting thing about the Barber Dime; when I checked it for a mint mark I noticed that someone had carved an initial into the coin where the mint mark would be. The initial appears to be an A or perhaps it's supposed to represent AH. Kinda neat!

This little pinback car thingy was kinda cool too:

I thought this was going to be a clad quarter, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this big ol' honkin silver ring come out of the hole. It is marked .925. From the design on it I'd guess that it's modern. Still a nice find.

The good news is that there is a lot more area to cover at this park. I will definitely be heading back there!

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

The Barber dime is interesting. It's in great shape too.

You've really got some nice parks to hunt over there. Fun times for sure. :beerbuddy:
