Indians on the E-Trac

I think I'm missing A LOT of opportunity on nailing some Indians. The one's I've found on my E-Trac have been 12-30/31, I have also got one at 12-24 with a nail in the hole.

Where does everyone else find them? :dontknow:

In a nice setting with very little or no trash, they read 12-34. But I find most of them at 12 -31. The fattie Indians are around 12-24 or 12-25.

I find the Co number on most of the shallower ones I hit on to be between 34 and 35, but they do range between 31 and 37. As George pointed out though, trashy or iron infected sites will tend to keep those number on the low side.

Well if we are to dig Indians we will have to dig zinkies too, the problem is when we dig an Indian at two inches we end up having to dig the zinks at 5!

Around here in Illinois, I tend to see injuns hitting in the 09-36 range (but jumpy). The one I found at 1 inch deep (see my video) rang up as a true zinky 12-38. The only reason I dug it was because I was at the 1850's farm house and I couldn't figure how a zincoln got up under the hedge!

Fatty I dug had a CO in the 20-22 range. Same for the flying eagle. At an old site, dig 'em all if the FE number says its not ferrous.

As someone who has just started using the E-trac, this is great information. I wonder how many I may have missed to date. Oh wait, it's me ... probably none.
