Januaray 1st 2011 I'm off to a good start

I didn't know what I had till I got home. The Buckle and what looks like another piece that belongs with it were about 8 feet apart near and old foundation in a 10 acre woods a friend of mine owns, I've found a couple Indians and some wheats here on the first few hunts but these are my first silver finds from there. I know there has to be some old silver coins lurking, I was using the 4x6DD coil on my V3i cause the snows gone and it's really trashy where I was at. I really didn't figure I'd upload the video but since there's silver I figured it was worthy. I would have stayed longer but the wind came up and it really started getting a lot colder.

:shocked04: :shocked04:stretcher: that Larry is a great looking buckle (probably a womans sash as Coinnut said or off a large hat) i'd say late 1800's to maybe 1910 ish , a real beauty of a piece too , huge congrats :happydance01: :clapping: :clapping:

Thanks for all the great replies everyone thumbsup01 I ended up weighing both pieces and was surprised that just the buckle weighs 13.8 grams and a U.S. half is less the 13 grams.
