July, 6th - South of France

Hello all,

I'll try to post a few things from my last hunts here in France. Here is the result of my hunt on July, 6th.

The group picture:

3 buttons, possibly from 18th to 20th century. (The one at the top and on the left may be recent)

A religious medal

Small French Revolution button. They were only made between the end of 1792 and the beginning of 1793.

Old watch key. (given to me by the friend who found it)

"Denier Tournois, 2nd type, undetermined mint, Francois Ier, billon". Francois Ier was King of France from January 25, 1515 until his death on March 31, 1547.

Yep, that's the good stuff! :notworthy:

I like the design on the watch key.

What is the "Denier Tournois" coin from the 1500s made out of?

Nice early French coin. At least the watch winders are all the same from around the world  The French revolution button is in super shape. The other button looks like it is just the back half of a 2 piece button. You can see where the shank (loop) was bent over before the front half was put on. Looks like the broken button is a Tombac button. We get a lot of them that break here too.
