Hi ,, I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone here and learning oodles of tidbits.
I'm terribly new to detecting and positively green to boot,,, oh !!! and naive too.:goodnight:

Love your pic mr wack! What machine do you have? Have you made any finds yet? Welcome to the group!!:thumbsup01:

Welcome to the forum from Wisconsin! We've definitely got oodles of tidbits here, and maybe even a banana for the monkey. Yes, I think we must have to be a little "wack" to detect.

Thanks for the welcome guy's,
Being a novice I didn't want or indeed need to spend too much for a machine so I went cheap on my pocket book and got the "entry level " Delta 4000,,, if i take to this Hobby, ( ah!!.. who am I foolin ?. I'm already taken, lol.) something else will show it's ugly head and i'll have to get it :hystericallaugh:,,,, unless I like the 4000.

Just a bunch "o" trash and clad so far ,, nothing to write home about but I have two acres of woods on my piece of heaven so who knows,,,.
Thanks agin ,,,

Welcome from Illinois! :waving:

So many people buy an expensive detector and then immediately lose interest in the hobby. You are going about it the smart way. It sounds like the bug has bitten though. It's just like fishing, all it takes is patience and perseverance until you catch "the big one".

Best of luck and happy hunting!

I agree with Tony, best for most people is to start small and work up to a better machine. I started with a very good machine, but soon found ts limitations and knew I was missing a lot of great finds. Then spent the next 6 months drooling over the top end machine until I ran across a deal on a lightly used one and was able to convince the lady to let me get it. (She still doesn't know the extra coils, etc were bought later! LOL)

Yep when I fish or hunt ( deer ) I'm Always looking for "the big one". alas it has eluded me thus far Tony ,but I keep on doing it , one day darn it one day !!! :bangahead02: .

Digger , I know what ya mean about the " covert " buys, my good lady doesn't know about the new Pro-pointer II and if I have my way it'll stay that way ,,,lol . :crossfingers:

Hello from Washington state. I started out with a cheap cheap cheap detector. Then I found a coin spill; I was hooked and eventually upgraded. Hopefully you will soon have that one hunt that grabs you and keeps you hooked. Happy hunting!
