Large cent from the golf course

Yesterday's hunt with Al and Steve produced this undated large cent from about 10" deep. The little bottle marked "Pineoleum" dates back to early 1900's. I found it at a different site. A small amount of the rubber seal was still attached. The best thing about hunting this golf course is the opportunity to meet other detectorists whose stories I've read about on this forum for years! Steve and Al lit it up with their finds yesterday. Well done Steve and 12 and a half cent Al ! :grin:

I thought for sure you were going to get a date off of that LC seeing that it had full LIBERTY. Again it was a pleasure hunting with you, maybe next time you'll snag a silver.

In case anybody is wondering why Mike referred to me as 12 and a half cent Al, its because Mike asked me how the cut Wash rang up and I said "just like a 12 and a half cent coin"

It's hard to tell for sure, but the large Cent looks like a Matron Head Modified "Young Head" version which would date it from 1835-1839. This golf course is giving up a wide range of coins and relics.

Cool large cent Mike! Al thanks again for the invite you made my day, month probably year? Here is my take for the day and I wonder if the nick name 12 1/2 cent Al will stick?
