Large CT State Seal Button

It's been a week since I've been able to get out so I was excited to get some time this morning. I had to be back early so I stayed close to home, hitting a field that gave up a sweet KG2 a few weeks ago. Today I dug a few Rosies (I infrequently dig these, maybe one a year), two wheats 1914, 1946, a flower button from Leavenworth & Co 1839-49, and my first Connecticut State Seal button. :happydance01:Backmark is Scovills & Co Waterbury.

I had the 13in coil on the T2 which covers a ton of ground, but there is a lot of ground to cover! Thanks! Drew

wow Drew that Ct. button is in great shape , these are usually pushed in and dented from frost heaves during winter. Hopefully you have lots of gold gilt under the dingy soil grime . A nice addition to any military display sir!:clapping:

Thank you Dan! I don't see any trace of gold :( but I'll clean it further. Do you know what type of units would wear this button? Thanks!!

Drew that is an officer's button , don't know exactly which regiment all I know is there were many as Connecticut sent an enormous amount of men off to fight in the Civil war.

Great finds Drew! Love to see that button cleaned up. Never saw one of those before. You East coasters have some rich history to dig up for sure!

Wow. Sweet button, Drew. Don't ya hate it when u have to go a week without hunting? the one below the bu kyle is nice too. If that is a musket ball, it sure is in great shape.

Great button! "One Rosie a year"....gee whiz! A couple years ago I had almost 50 of them! Obviously I need to hunt older places!

Thanks everyone!
Jim, I think that is a musket, it's heavy like one, but it does look newer in the picture. I don't know what I did with it...I think I threw it in the musket pile  Does everyone have a musket pile?
Bucknut, yeah I'm having a good year for Rosies, I have four so far
I remember my first silver coin was a Rosie...1964, younger than me.
