Last few hunts

I got permission to hunt this field earlier this year, and have spent the last few days there. I don't know the age of the field, so I've been keeping my eyes open as I detect looking for broke clay pipe stems, old pottery or anything else that might give me an idea of the age. None was found though. The field is wicked quiet with very few signals. I have found a few keepers, but I think it has been hit quite a bit in the past. I found my first coin today which I believe to be a KG II, but it's too warn for me to tell for sure. Anyways, here's my finds for the last few hunts.

Nice going! I bet you can straighten that sash buckle ...and that key cleans up nicely! That small button on the left is interesting, what is it made of? :clapping:

Thanks Drew. The white button was an eyeball find. Probably glass. I can't seem to walk by one without picking it up. :lolsign:

Well, from the finds you now know it is late 1700s to early 1800s. Flat buttons and the musket ball which was used up until just before the CW makes it very likely that is a KG3.

I bet you can straighten that sash buckle

Not a Victorian sash, right? Even the one I found that is maybe 1.5" is still two piece. This one is definitely thin like a sash buckle, but not the two piece Victorian style.

Some nice finds. Did the key turn out to be a railroad one? You got yourself a wide variety of dates on those finds. :congrats:

nice keepers Earle , its good to see you very active and "gettin the goods" . i suspect the bent buckle is an early 1900's era woman's shoe decoration type .
