Finally enough snow melted and we had a couple of warm days so yesterday I decided to go out and get rid of the cabin fever cause weather predictions aren't good for the next two weeks. I went to a woods that's property of WMU and covers quite an area but only went through a small part of it, I've found many good finds in this patch of woods.
No silver or gold but I did get some keepers.
The ring is made out of aluminum and on the inside it says good ole "Hong Kong" I remember as a kid the cheap stuff said "Hong Kong" and now it is no longer but a part of history.
I found two of these zinc skeleton keys in the same hole
As far as wheats go for 2013 I ended up filling a 1/2 pint milk bottle to the brim, that's about what I've been getting for the past several years.
Well I didn't go out of 2013 with a bang but I did get a me another buff for the year. I've gotten a good amount of buffs this year and only one V nickel which is out of the norm for me.
I was very happy with the condition of this buffalo, it must be the soil cause corrosion usually really attacks them bad.
The soil was really easy on these wheats as well
Actually I found two locks, the other one was a nasty looking slaymaker (zinc) so I didn't include it in the photos but I figured this big ole Best lock deserved a show.
