Found this this morning about two inches under a penny that I dug. Not sure I would have dug this signal with out the penny

Yep. Me too. The first gold ring I ever found was in a plug that I was digging a penny signal. The ring was only about 3 inches deep.
I rechecked the hole and down about another 3 inches was the wheat penny that I was after!
Always recheck your hole!
