Makers mark ID on a sterling knife

I am trying to figure out what company made this sterling silver knife the mark is an R in a circle with the word STERLING. I found it Christmas Eve. I need some help. Thanks

that is a butter knife and I believe the R stands for Reed,,try google sterling silver flatware there are hundreds of patterns.

Jtgold yes it is a butter knife. Thanks helping make the ID. I had looked at the mark for that company before but was confused buy the knife not having the eagle and lion on sides. do you think those other marks just wore off? Here is a better view of the entire knife. It does look to have been well used.
