Metal Detecting Videos, Am I The Only One?

I'm posting this here in the general discussions, so it that's wrong, please move it. When it comes to watching posted MDing videos of people's finds, I really get little enthusiasm out of someone showing a hole with a target apparently inside. I do however, look and enjoy all of the vids with a detector making tone and finding, then pin pointing before the digs. Any video beats nuthin' though. jm2c. martin

Hi Martin,

A lot of great videos with all kinds of styles here .Two particular videos that I liked that show all of the stages I think you would like to see are by Vito ThE kRAuT . He shows all the stages from swinging the coil to having recovered the target . Check out his videos on the CZ-70 Pro and the DeLeon they are very nicely done . thumbsup01

I've thought about doing some like that too. Usually my better finds are total surprises lol I could film 100 hours of locating, pin pointing, and retrieving memorials and clad coins. But for me I'm more interested in seeing the better/ older finds so thats what I usually film. Another reason I don't usually film targets that I think might be good ones is because it seems like every time I set up for one it turns out to be trash or clad or anything other than what I'm hoping for. I do try to leave a good target as close to a state of insitu as I can when I realize it's a target worthy of getting the camera out.

I guess I am one of the guys that start my video after the coin is dug and just show the end result. I have thought a lot about doing an occasional video showing the whole process. Next time I get a deep one I will give it a shot.

Generally that is the way I do it too, I will try it some time but it is difficult to dig and hold the camera at the same time, I have a little tripod I guess I will have to use. I have done a few full digs of my friend Doug and he has generally had a keeper each time we have done it.

Howdy Pard!
I've made several videos that show sweeping, pinpointing and taking coins and jewelry from their hiding places.
Hope this fits your bill!

Hope you find what you're looking for in these videos. I have others, one or two of which show Pipster making finds too, but I figure the ones I've posted here oughtta be plenty to get you bored right outta the chute! LOL!

It also can depend on what camera you use as some have only a certain amount of time on the internal memory or extra memory card. If you record all the time searching ,then digging all the items ,your camera memory fills up fast. Especially if you dig up lots of clad coins, and junk.

I myself like to see full digs, but know sometimes it is hard to film and dig at the same time-------when your find is a good one, you might just forget to stop your camera after filling the hole and walk off leaving it still recording..........been there done that..... :omg: :omg:
