Hello Copenhaigan welcome to the forum , to help you out please tell us what specifically are you trying to find . coins , jewelry , relics?

I am interested in finding coins and probably jewelry but would be fine just finding anything since I am just getting started

I'm to assume you detecting parks or schools or house lawns ?? what kind of money did you want to spend on a new or used machine ??

well you could get a garret ace 250 or Whites treasure master for close to that they are both great starter machines for close to that price .

I have a Fischer f2 that runs a little over 200 on amazon and I am doing well on clad coins and a few rings so far this year

For a few bucks more you could go with a minelab X-terra 305, listed at $329 0nline. A bit more than a simple beginners machine, but easy to learn and great performance. I use the X-terra 705 myself.

Good recommendations so far. With a $200 budget you might consider looking for something used in the midrange in terms of quality. Some of the options have already been listed - I would add ACE 350 to those already mentioned. Another one is White's MXT - a great machine. Or a White's DFX, but that might be out of your price range.
