Hello all!

This post covers targets recovered from Wednesday Sept 15th and Friday Sept 17th, 2010...

My Video's >> http://www.youtube.com/user/CTDirtFisher

Video for these targets:

Dirt Fishing (Metal Detecting) in Connecticut - Sept 15th and 17th 2010

Wednesday, with 90 minutes to hunt... I head back to an old school that I have worked pretty good over the last 2 years... but still produces keepers most of the time...

I first target out of the hole was a US Military Button... I don't know the era... *shrug*

Next up was a sweet silver sound (as you can hear on the Video...) 1946 Roosevelt Silver Dime...

Thurday night was lots of rain and storm in CT so i neaded to a spot on Friday that yielded some nice old coppers a few weeks back, but was bone dry...

I had a nice 12/26 signal @ 6 that yielded this King George II Half Penny (1727–1760) Might be my imagination... but look like a 175X for a date...

I recovered a few flat button here and the last keep was this 1864 Indian Head Penny... That LOOKED pretty rough out of the hole but cleaned up fairly good...

Happy Hunting all!

You had several good hunts, and nice variety of finds too. That's a good old copper, and it does look to be dated 175? It's too early in the morning for me though. lol Nice going!

Yep it's an oldie! But it's a Farthing not a Halfpenny. It's also the young head which puts it 1730s, and by the picture looks like 1737 with the last 7 dropped down slightly.

Pretty cool old stuff you found --- 1757 or 1737 :shocked04:. What's twenty years when you are already 250 years old. If only the coin could talk!!

Great set of treasures there Paul!!

You sure know how to pull good stuff from hunted areas.

That's a skill I'm trying to learn.

Congrats.

Nice finds Paul, I was gonna say farthing since it reads too low for a copper half cent and it looks like about quarter size. Great find and congrats on your oldest coin :clapping: It could still be a counterfeit copper since I'm not sure where the regal ones read. The button will be a Tombac if it's a dull silver color and it has a mound on the shank (loop ) side. I watched the vid, but I don't remember the back of it, but I think it is just a large cloak button. No GW on the other side is there? lol I think the Military is after 1903 and is probably around that time or a bit newer, but the backmark would probably help date it. A super hunt!!
