Hello everyone, my name is Ed and I am new to this site. I do not get to detect as often as I would like, but love it when I do  I have a whites xlt, a Tesoro Cibola, and a Tesoro Tiger shark. I have problems trying to figure out what to detect for, and where to go (many places). I live in upstate NY and am trying to get my 13yr old and 8yr old daughters into the hobby. I look forward to posting pictures of some of my finds(so I can find out what they are) and getting to know all of you. Thank you

Welcome to the forum, Ed! Glad to have you here! We would love to see some of your finds. My 11-year-old daughter seems to be moderately interested in metal detecting. I don't force it on her, but sometimes she asks to tag along.

Good luck and happy hunting!

favorite find so far is a coin I need identified and will be posting a pic on here soon...I believe the date is 1782...on the front it says Brittans rejoice your king restored...and on the other side it says Docto.....something...I need to post the pics...its a large coin...about the size of a 50 cent pice or so and really thick...details are pretty good so I am sure you guys can let me know what it is....
