Joined the forum recently and thought it was about time for an intro.
I'm a very much retired CPO Royal Navy, served 24 yrs repairing Her Majesties nautical radars, radios and mine-hunting sonars, leaving the service late '81. Current age three score years and 16, still with own hair and teeth !! Happily married for 34yrs - second time around- living in the cider county of North Somerset
Have been detecting for about 4 years, but, alas, no hoards found as yet. Loads of 18c Georgian coppers in various states of grottiness, several roman coins, equally grotty, from the site of a roman settlement. Plus the usual assortment of pull tabs and bottle tops!
I realise we are lucky over here, in that our history goes way back BC and some lucky bods find coins and artefacts from that era.
My armoury is – AT Pro Int, Cscope6MXi, and an Omega 8000
Hope to join in when I have summat useful to say.
Finally, my best find to date can be seen here - https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/797260

Welcome Keith! Thanks for the awesome introduction too. I'm not sure what the hell Lee said above but he's an okay bloke! I'm looking forward to seeing what you find. We love pictures on this forum! Best wishes and HH Dave.

Welcome to the forum Keith. It is good to have you with us and thank you for your service. I will be heading over the pond to your country in a few months for a 10 day hunt, save some goodies for me.

Love to see the older European finds posted :)
I'd be interested in how you decide which of your machines you take. Glad you found us!

Machine of choice is the AT Pro The Cscope as back up. The poor old Omega is languishing in the corner- nowt wrong with it , but it and I cant gell. Will most likely sell it
