New way to clean coins?

This happened by accident. I had dug this penny up and forgot it was in my pocket when I washed my clothes. Found it rattling around the bottom of the washing machine when I was taking them out to move to the dryer. I was surprised at how clean it came out! I wish I had a before picture but I don't. As I remember it was pretty dirty but not what you would find if dug from a salt water beach. Maybe I stumbled on a new way to get the coins clean!

the washer and dryer will do wonders on old musket balls and bullets too :lol:

Just remember, sleeping on the couch is sort of like camping

you also have to make sure they don't get through the tub and below they will ruin the machine some tubs have holes big enough to allow coins to get through.

maybe a stocking bag would work for this

Cleaning the pump to the washer is no fun either :lol: It does work well. I think I remember someone rolling a bunch of coins in a sock and sending them through the wash.
