odd looking shell

I found a couple of these odd shells when Del, kray and OxShoeDrew had our hunt. Never seen this kind of shell before. Used some calipers on the inside of the shell and it mics out to 40 caliber. The base of the shell is what is interesting on how it is made, with a bulged out center and what almost looks like two rim fire marks. The shell is a little over 3/4" including the base. Any body know what kind of shell this is or how old it could be. Looks similar to the early 1900's ones I have dug before.

I think it goes to a Henry rifle!

I think you are right. The Henry was a rim fire shell that had the H in the middle. And it is definitely the 1860s. The newer relicas are not rim fire but will be coming out this past year as such. They are actually a .44 made up until the 30's.
