Old Copper ????

Found this today at my favorite copper field.

I put the dime in for size reference. I have taken pictures of both sides plus rotating 180 degrees.

Looks very old, copper and I can make out some letters.

They are (maybe) ART and D2.

Really need some help here.

Thanks,

Al

it says Liard De France , most likely a 1600's era coin Al ! congratulations coins-french-royal-coins-louis-xiv-1643-1715-liard-de-france-au-buste-age-3e-type-1693d-lyon_121.jpgLiard-Louis-XIV-1655-E-croix.jpgThere is some variations in the type of bust that could narrow down a date range .

Hey Al, I think you might have an old French Liard ! Rotate the bottom pic bottom to top and compare it below.

Congrats on the Liard

Thanks everybody. This is my second Liard but I'm pretty sure that I will not be getting a date off of this one. I think my other one was a 1657.
