old key

Struck out on silver today, but did dig this old key. Anyone have an idea of how old it is; what it might have unlocked? I'm no physical security expert, but that key looks pretty lame in terms of security (maybe locked a china cabinet or something) -- I'm curious 'cause the property owner may be curious as well.

Also in the past week dug a 2 cent piece and a handful of merc/rosie type silver, but its been rough getting out with the heat and the rock hard ground, much less knocking down 15 silvers a day :poke: lol. Hopefully everyone else is coping with the heat/ground conditions well.

I agree with Dan... that key looks like it may be to a drawer or small chest. Nice finds!!

Nice....that 2 center held up well, looks like a nice patina on her! :clapping: And the key is cool too

Nice looking '64 :clapping: It has the good color green on it. Should clean up very easy. All these 1864's showing up lately, I was hoping for a small motto variety, but no dice lol
