I've been slacking off on my detecting duties for awhile. Trying to get things done around the house that I put off. Now I'm getting back out there. Hit the old fairgrounds 4 times in February. Came out with $4.36 in clad and 5 wheats. The 5th time out was waaaaaaay better! Only $1.41 in change but I also got a 1918-D Mercury dime and what I believe is a King George II half penny. I think it's a 1700's coin. I can see a left facing bust and the letters GEORGIVS and REX and on the back is BRITAN-NIA with a seated figure with shield holding a spear. The date is corroded along with most of the rest of it and it has a hole. But to me it looks GREAT!IMG_0075.jpgIMG_0078.jpgIMG_0080.jpg I'm just not sure if it's a half penny or a penny, it's almost as big as a large cent but thinner?IMG_0079.jpg

Nice KG 2 could be me but i see a 45 in the last picture so im thinking 1745 ( could be a 3) but colonial for sure congrats!

20140208_1732GeorgeIIColonial2.jpgIts a "young head " variety and would date from 1727 to 1739 , congrats on the half penny

Wow! Huge congrats on the 1727-1739 KG Copper! That will put a big smile on your face every time! I agree with some of the others that it looks like 1743 in the photos. Hard to tell though.

It's good to see a post from you, RaZR!

:congrats:
