Oldest park yields only silver ring

I got out this morning for about an hour after work to try at the oldest park in the city which is on the 1832 map. Figured I would try the 6 inch coil since it was so trashy with the hope I could find something missed between the garbage. Well, nothing old or even somewhat deep, but I did pick up a silver ring. It was covered in black paint, but some solvent cleaned it right up.

Nice little piece of bling! If you can come away with at least one good keeper I'd call the hunt successful. HH!

Nice chunk. idk why it would have been painted black and be made of silver. weird. Nice to know, tho, I think the silver fork piece I found was 18g so its more than enough to make a nice big ring with some cabochons I'll order up.

It looked like the previous owner had submerge their hand in black paint maybe, and it was nasty looking. Just glad I have access to industrial solvents.
