ridiculous flying eagle

Dug this treasure tonite, which is really too embarrassing to post. (If you use your imagination, you can see the outline of an eagle there), trust me . I'm certain it was an 1856 in a previous life lol. 2nd FE this year, and only 2 IH as well, so go figure. All I can hope for is that this is from the seated silver era, so maybe I'll get some of that next time. CO of 16 on the E-Trac if you are interested. (Oh, and the reverse is even worse).

Wow what a beauty Randy lol A treasure for sure ;) That ground is corrosive, you diggin at Chernobyl ? rofl In a couple more years it would have been gone to nothing. Even the CO 16 reading is low. Usually around 24. I hope you get the silver from there because it would be some Seated for sure. But at least you know the area is old.

yup i can make out the eagle Randy , hey i think i can see the 6 too lol lol .too bad about the condition man , i've dug more than a few and they just don't hold up very well . its the right time period for some nice silver though , hope you score some of that there.

I would happy to just find one.... well mabe a bit better shape lol they are rare to find arnt they :dontknow: and what did it read16?

Wow! I didn't know if I was looking at a coin or a red corpuscle being invaded by bacteria.. lol
Not to worry, my flying eagle didn't look much better.. but what can we expect from something that has been in the ground for 150+ years! :crying02:

at least it's a coin or was. I know how it is to dig something up, and oh it would have been great but for the condition.
