Rock Tumbler

It was 16 degrees this morning so I've been having fun with my new rock tumbler Dan suggested. I thought I could date the coronet, and wanted to see if the floral pattern on the dandy button would pop. So I threw those in, with about 20 other dandies. Darned if many of the shanks didn't break off :(... but I came closer to dating the coin (1823?) and it looks like its marked!! So cool!! Also, that dandy is silver!!! You couldn't see ANY color before tumbling.

Drew I can clearly see the date on the LC. It is "IIV2" ;) Cool etchings on that copper though. On the bright side, your buttons will display better with no shanks. What I like about the copper is it doesn't have that orange scrubbed look that you in coppers after some people tumble them. We need before and after pics next time! :)

The more weight you put into the tumbler the more likely shanks will break unfortunately . Very unique markings on the large cent , Drew .
