Scored a Barber quarter today!

I hit another farm field today that once held an old school house. Only 1 coin in 2 hours but it was a good one, 1898 Barber quarter. The second site was one I detected 8 years ago with good success. I was in the area so I thought I would give it a try with the CTX. I found a 1900 Indian, 1942 Merc, 5 wheats and a 1940 German Third Reich 10 Reichspfennig. It is made of Zinc.

Always a thrill to find a Barber Quarter, especially one from the 1800s! :thumbsup02:

The German coin is an interesting find too.

:congrats:

While you boys are grabbing all the colonial relics I had to grab some of the other local Wheaton IL goodies. My first barber quarter of the year and it's a beauty. Hope you guys are having fun.

You alway do good research Jeff. And this is what your rewarded with! :thumbsup02:
Congrats!
The German coin makes perfect sense. There's a lot of German families in that area. I know my grandpa and uncles always would tell me about growing up.

Grats on the silver. Surprised how a zinc coin from 1940 held up, yet our own zincolns from 2010 can be half eaten by now.

Congrats on the Barber Quarter. Those german coins are pretty cool. I dug one last March at a fair grounds.
