I re-checked an area I had previously hunted, and used the new 5x8 DD. I pulled this V from around 5 inches. I had found one earlier this spring, but it was badly worn. At least this one is legible, maybe as good as it gets for the soil here in SW WI.[attachimg=1][attachimg=2]

Very nice V Nickel! It has very little wear. It looks just like the ones I find here in central Illinois.

Nice find. doesn't look to bad condition wise. Our soil out here in MA can really eat up the coins. Looks like the 5x8 DD is gonna work out.
