Hey fellow dirt fisher's... I came across some finds today at a local park. Two U.M.C. co 10 guage shell casings with different style designs on the backs. And a 12 gauge casing with Western Field on the back. Also found a 3 ringed bullet & old button. (Obviously not civil war era) that seemed odd to me. Anybody got any idea of their age?? I'm thinking early 1900's to 1910's. I had to head back to this spot today b/c yesterday I arrived to find 2 other detectorists not having very much luck. So I invited them over to my secret spot. Which turned out to be a very BIG mistake... They ended up finding a 1943 Nickle, a 193? Wheaty and, best/ worst of all, a 1778 Spanish 2reale with an oM mint mark. :girlcry:

thats an old one piece button , i'd go back and work the area where you found it

That was kind of you to invite them. Good luck on the return trip. Where there's flat buttons there are coins. |:cheering:
