Headed out with Don and Alex again to what was an 1830s cabin site. Unfortunately it was a bust lots of broken pottery picked up this old bottle top on the surface. Not to be deterred, we did a little doorknocking. Manage to get 2 Buffalo and 1 very worn V nickel. Didn’t find a single Indian but I did manage a worn Mercury dime and a nice barber dime. Thought I was digging a nickel but it turned out to be a very nice gold plated/porcelain pin. It was a good day.

Wow, that merc really is worn out! The horse and buggy pin is quite nice looking and very unique. Have you found any information about it?

Always good to have options. Looks like you guys did OK with plan "B". We should all post our most worn coins. I have a few good candidates. Nice fins WD

Has the marking on the back, think it was Czechoslovakia. Alex is the one who read the back, since my eyes are so bad. No other info but it's clear the market for the "New world" was hot. Home was from the mid 1800s.

Very nice pin. I love it. Does the Mercury have a date? I have this thing for old worn out Mercury Dimes.
