We need more days like today, especially on the weekends. It was beautiful out there! I considered detecting at one of the local parks, but headed to Connecticut instead. I ended up with five silver coins and one large cent, dated 1853.

Here is a trio of dimes as dug - a Barber dime, a mercury and a Roosevelt.

Another five silver dimes added to the pile.

This pin is heavy. It was deep and had sounded off like a quarter too. :bangahead02: But I like it.

Another pile of wheat cents.

HH!

very sweet day Angel and it sure was a beauty of a day here in Connecticut , great silver as usual and the copper well
lets just say its an attention getter ( right George :poke: ) your pin has the official Connecticut state seal on it so its
probably something to do with law enforcement or local civil use .very nice

Wow, those coppers take a beating in your ground! :shocked04: Still, you are doing amazing with the large cents this year :) :)

Silver as usual my friend... congrats :) I love the barber :)

The pin is very nice. :thumbsup01:

Forget the silver, I think Angel is leading the copper count  Nice day out and 5 silvers never hurt either. And as button man Dan says It's an official Connecticut state seal So I guess it is ..... Man them coppers take a beating. If you clean it too much the date is going with it  Nice day for a hunt.

Thanks, Dan. It is an interesting piece. It's the size of a quarter, but slightly heavier. It was at about the 9 mark, so it had been at that park for some time apparently.

They sure do take a beating from the soil at the parks. :bummer: They sound off beautifully though. :) I have found six this year so far. :)

I don't stand a chance. Yeah, they don't handle cleaning too well. I just try to remove the surface soil and let them be.

You haven't been reading up on the relics section posts. Those guys are pulling some beautiful coppers from their hunting grounds.
