Still Swingin' in Pa

Still Swingin'
Hi all! My name is Joe, I'm 49, from SE Pa. (Obviously) I started MDing in July of this year. Rented a Ace150 and an F2 for a week at the beach... And I was hooked. I bought a 250, sold it, got the AT Pro, added the Sov XS for the beach, and upgraded it. Just picked up an ETrac... Still figuring it out.

So far I've found my share of pull tabs, bottle caps, assorted junk, and a small pile of clad. Along the way I found a Tombac button, King George III halfpenny, buck and balls, and recently my first gold ring.

I'm still learning and looking to learn more from you more experienced folks.

Glad to be here.

Hi Joe! Welcome from Illinois! :waving:

It sounds like you are well on your way to becoming a die hard detectorist! You have already made some great finds in only three months. I am envious of all the history there in PA. I am sure that many great finds await you.

Looking forward to your participation on the forum!

Welcome from western MA. Sounds like your arsenal of detectors is top notch. Looking forward to your future finds.

Thanks all. There is a lot of history in the area, sadly most of it is out of bounds.

Here are some pics of my finds... To help with those cravings.

Joe , from all them upgrades you sound like a man who has been bitten by the detecting bug . welcome to the forum . some great finds there sir :clapping: your King George III looks more like a George 1st ( these are usually called Wood's Hibernia's because of the designer and minter) 1722 -24. here is one to compare it to .

Glad you joined up Joe!

Dan

Hello and welcome from Northern Illinois
Great Finds so far.
This is my first year with the e-trac after upgrading from the AT Pro. I started out slow, but EVERY month has gotten better & Better.
Be patient and that machine will pay out big time.

Hi Joe. Weclome, and nice finds! That's a sweet ring.

Similar story here. I started in late May with an Ace 350, and picked up a used White's V3i a month ago. Good luck with your Etrac, great machine.

Del, that KGI was brought up by a few in the group I am with. None are really sure because of the condition of the coin. but i put together a comparison image for you to take a look at... assuming both the 1806 and the 1722 are the same diameter (my coin is 1.125")
KGI being above and KGIII being below. You make the call.

Hi Joe,welcome from central Maryland. I became addicted to this hobby back in March 2011. Started with a Bounty Hunter and now have 5 detectors, nothing high$ ,but they have all paid for themselves. Good luck
