As an owner of a &quot:grin:ug small motto variety, I have had many people ask me the difference between the Large and small variety . I have found out that there are actually 11 documented difference if not more. Here is a website that shows the most common . They left out one of the major differences which is that the D is smaller than on the Large Motto.

Thanks Sal this is very good info to know. For when I find a 1864 lol

Funny thing- last night and this morning I've been working on cleaning my only 2 cent piece. 1865... the back was soooo grungy I thought it was non-legible. After soaking in oil for almost a year, it is coming off to expose the image! I'm glad I didn't give up on it. I also put it in boiling hydrogen peroxide which is helping loosen up the crud.
