This last week has been very good to me...

While I've been detecting over 20 years off and on, I just bought my new detector 2 months ago. I've been studying hard hoping to pass the e-trac school of learning. This last week I went to two locations that treated me well. First was a 1930 school that is getting torn down for some new condos. The second location was a sidewalk tear out in a park down by the Old St Louis Arsenal. Here are some pictures of my finds. The 1853 half dime is not in the best of shape as the Bobcat tearing up the sidewalk ran over it. Still very happy as it's my oldest coin to date by 5 years.

Looks like you are getting the hang of the e-trac Denny! Nice finds and congrats on the early silver. Is that your first 1/2 dime? All this rain we had is going to make for a great weekend MDing! Best wishes and HH, Dave.

This is my first half dime! It's the second time I've made it to the 1850's. Thanks
for your help last time...

Woooo Hoooo first half dime :cheering::bananadance::clapping::groovy::congrats:

Mega congrats Denny:thumbsup02:

Congrats on the Minnie ball, half dime, and other old coins and relics!!! I'd say this is a FANTASTIC week for you!!! Keep it up!!! :clapping:

Congrats on passing the E Trac test. :perfect10: You found some nice coins from those sites. In the past I have straightened some coins by putting them between some Maple boards and giving it a quick whack on the cement floor :shocked04: Works well for buttons too, but you have to cut a slot for the shank to be recessed in.

Thanks for all the compliments, this was not a normal week but looking back we did find a "Good Luck"
horseshoe and bingo luck was with us...

Love that Half Dime. Bent or not, It's a very nice find. I'll bet you get more nice finds when you go back there. The E-trac has a way of sniffing them out. Congrats

:wow::drool: that half dime is AWESOME:congrats: I love the old bullet and they silver ring too.. I'd say that's a week to remember :perfect10:
