Todays finds .925 Silver

Today I went to a different park in a town close to me. I was hunting a soccer field when a man approached me and said that a lady had lost an engagement ring back in the summer near the ball field. He showed me the area and I spent a couple of hours looking for it. I didn't find the ring, but I did find a handful of clad coins and a small silver pendant. I think I also found a mini ball, or maybe it is just a bullet. I'm not really sure. Anyway, the weather was nice and I enjoyed it. So until next time.

Congrats on the silver!! |:cheering: I don't know anything about relics, so I can't tell you if that is a mini ball, but others here can. :)

Sounds like a great site to hit again :perfect10:

Very nice hunt. :clapping: Plenty of good targets to keep you busy.
I like the .925. :smitten: Very cool piece. The other item looks like an old musket ball to me.
From the oxidation... it has some age to it.
Congrats.

p.s. Feel free to post hunts like this in the Share Your Coinshooting Stories and Photos section. This would fit in there nicely. thumbsup01

Nice finds. Silver is good, even if it isn`t a coin. Nice when someone points you in the right direction. Give the area a second going over, you might have missed the first time. Enjoy that nice weather down there, up here in Wisconsin it won`t be long before things freeze over. Good luck on future hunts.

Looks like a musket ball to me as well. I've found a few, and that's pretty much what they look like, tho a bit more rounded, and maybe slightly larger (mine are all about .55 or so). Did it ring mid-range, in the brass/lead section?

RE the engagement ring -- expand your search radius. Its there. Last year I had a guy contact me about finding an engagement ring, and I kept going back to the site, and kept expanding the radius, and eventually got it. Took about 10 hours or so. It was way far from where he thought it was. Another tip, crank down the sens. on the engagement ring search.

Very nice of you to look for that ring. Give it another try. Congrats on the silver and that does look like a musketball.

Don't you just love it when you go to new place, get in a conversation with someone with a little knowledge of the area? Nice try at helping try to recover lost ring. That .925 sure is going to look pretty cleaned up. Great recoveries. Itching to go back there, I bet. Congratulations.
