half a day hunt cuz yesterday was a long one.Todd had permission a few years back to hit a field and dug about 8 coppers from there. He talked to the landowner this morning and got the ok to go back.had to work for our finds but managed a toasted holed braided hair LC,a cut 3/4 copper totally wiped out and a 1867 2 cent piece.dug a small garbage cans worth of junk for a couple keepers but was a enjoyable day.a different change of pace from running from yellow jackets and overgrown fern covered cellar holes.
thanks Todd for taking me out to your field site

Congrats on the finds, Dave. That's a nice looking Two Cent Piece! And you didn't even have to endure any yellow jacket stings to find it! :thumbsup01:

Coppers may be toasted, but the 2 cent piece is nice. And it's not an 1864  They are everywhere.

Great looking 2 Center, still one of my favorites. Large Coppers are good no matter the condition. Getting out with a friend is even better!

Great 2 center Dave and should clean up well. Agree that it's definitely worth taking a break from the woods, weeds and bugs every now and then and get to some fresh open air. Had to chuckle at your memorials as well. Got two great signals at an out of the way cellar hole last night and pulled a clad dime at 4 inches. Near dusk so my initial excitement in the dark turned to, "What the..." Thanks for posting.

John

Field hunting must have been easier than your description of cellar hole hunting. Gotta be tough being constantly on guard for bees and other disasters. Some nice finds, I would be tickled to find a 2 center and coppers. I was really surprised at your picture of all the trash, thought you were kidding about "a small garbage can".
