why thats a "token spill" (ok i just made that up :roflbut its true
I wonder why someone would carry bunches of tokens, maybe they were going to use all of them on one item.
The tokens date to the 1910's to 1920's. I would expect that at some point in the 30's or forties that they stopped using them. And that the kids were allowed to use them for play money?:shocked03: I wonder why someone would carry bunches of tokens, maybe they were going to use all of them on one item. Sweet finds! :notworthy:
Tried researching the $5 token and found basically nothing. There were apparently a few $5 tokens made over the years, though most appear to be for bigger ticket items such as furniture judging by the tokens listed for sale online. But for general merchandise, I would think that it's very rare indeed. The few $5 tokens I could find listed for sale were posting for between maybe $6 to a few hundred.
