Took day off, glad I did - 1827 Liberty Cap, GW Button and a 1722 French coin

I took the next few Friday's off to use for all day detecting fun. Today my first stop was a new farm field permission. However, after 2 hours I only had one button and a handful of clad. So, I went to the field I found that Seated Half Dollar last week. I'm glad I did...in the first 30 minutes I found the GW button. It looks like it was broken or cut and repurposed as a button again. About an hour later I found the 1827 Liberty Dime, my oldest US silver ever found, sat me down for like 20 minutes lol. On the way out a couple of hours later, I found the French 1722 Nine Deniers, my oldest dated coin to date. I had no idea what it was. I posted it on my blog and a buddy of mine actually dug one of these before and sent me the info on it.

I think one of my best days ever. :)

Amazing finds! I hate to say it, but you could go years and years and not have a day like that! Congrats! I’d take Thursdays and Fridays off, and pound that field!

Wow! What a day! Not only did you not have to work but instead you get rewarded! I love the Capped Bust dime :loveit:
Congrats!
Congrats on the new oldest coin too!
What is it with the Capped Bust coins. It seems like the numbers in the dates are always crooked :dontknow:

Thanks all! The button is rough and if I had not dug a complete one earlier this year, it would have broken my heart lol. The French coin is rough too, but I love odd stuff like that and it was cool I never even saw a coin like that before. The dime was my favorite of the day. I don't plan to clean it, it's beautiful as she is. Really nice detail left.

I'm going again next Friday and plan to spend the full day there. Last year you could pull 3-4 really nice coins from the field in a few hours. Now it's been hunted hard and you can't cherry pick finds anymore. All three of these items had funky VDI, all over the place. The dime had a nail really close to it, but you could hear a nice tone in with crappy tones. I dug it because of that tone...but I bet a lot of people passed over it thinking it was trash.

:wow: Those are some amazing finds.
I think I would have a heart attack if I pulled out a capped bust dime, especially one in that condition:perfect10:
